I’ve been fascinated with words for as long as I can remember, and I began a life-long journey into the power of words. When words are read not only as groups of characters, but as thoughts or emotions, the real power of words can help, inspire, encourage, and motivate us. In my journey, I’ve learned to be become very intentional on the words i choose, use and speak – even when it comes down to tensive vernacular and semantics.
“To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent people, and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest critics; and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one’s self; to leave the world a little better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived . . this is to have succeeded.”

Beautiful post. People today throw their words out carelessly, with little thought given to their potential and full impact. Mother Teresa also said it so beautifully — “kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.” Reciprocally, words spoken in anger and hurt have a ripple effect that bores deeply. We have the power to choose what comes out of mouths….use that power wisely!

I am with you on this for sure. I too came to a realization a few years ago, that words used in a certain manner or certain words used, can make all the difference in how you are understood and in how people feel by what you have to say. Nice post!
